First film-Stalker Movie

We used a variety of shots during our scene to give the effect that someone is being stalked. We started our scene using a long shot to establish the scenery and make the audience aware of what is going on and where the location is. We used a mid-shot to introduce the characters . After that we used a point of view shot through the window to make it seem like the victims were being watched. When the victim was going up the stairs we used a low angle shot again to give the effect of the victim being watched. When the victim was waking up on the floor we used a canted angle shot to make the audience feel that something was wrong and also to show the victim was waking up. The last shot we used was an over the shoulder high angle shot to indicate that the victim was vulnerable.

The music that was being played during our scene created a tense and uneasy atmosphere. Also each shot had its own different atmosphere, for example the point of view shot through the door gave the uncomfortable atmosphere of being watched. All the shots in our scene flow together and there was a good continuity throughout.

If we had the option to improve our scene we would find a way to make it longer and also include better clips of sound in the background of our scene.

First Lesson =)

So far we have practiced editing on the software which we will be using to edit our opening horror scene.  We also decided on the genre which we hope to base our opening scene on. The genre we have decided on is Psychological horror. We have also been discussing narratives for our scene and have come up with a few ideas. We then used a mind-map to brainstorm these ideas and possible props and locations that could be used.
